Okay, so I've had Marley for about 2 weeks now and she has been really good about housebreaking, or at least she exceeded my expectations. I take her outside and she usually goes. Well It's been decent weather here in Japan until yesterday. It snowed and sleeted all day. I tried to take her out but when i got her outside I felt horrible! She didn't seem to mind the snow but i think she was too distracted by it to go potty. Me feeling guilty i picked her up after all of 2 minutes and carried her back inside. Then she tinkled on the carpet after about 20 minutes. I feel bad but Ive only had her for 2 weeks and all the clothes and cold weather gear ive bought her online isnt here yet. She has also pooped inside the house yesterday. Now i know she is capable of holding it bc she does when its nice outside. But i guess my question is, what do i do when its too cold outside and weather is not permitting to let her out? Ive tried to get her to use the piddle pads but she refuses and seems to think im playing with her when i sit her little bottom on the pad for minutes at a time. I don't mind when she pooped in the house bc i just pick it up and flush it but i know this is not a good habit. I vaccuum everyother day ( i have to bc of my allergies ) and spray pet deoderizer on the carpet and have a hepa filter, but she still goes on the carpet. I even have that stuff that you put a few drop of on the pee pad and they are supposed to pee there.. NO LUCK!! I really want to get her trained for when weather is not permitting but nothing i do seems to work. My husband thinks that if i train her on the piddle pad that she will think its ok to go inside ( which i can understand ) but living on the coast of japan where weather is not always permitting to take a little furbaby outside is also causing me grief.. what should i do?! sorry if this just seems like i am rambling. I would just love it though if i could get her potty trained on the piddle pad. Suggestions? Stories of your own? PLEASE!!
