Yes, I agree with Chachi, it's normal, but you should not allow it. This is a display of dominance, and while it's ok if they do this with another dog or a stuffed animal or pillow, they should never be allowed to hump a human. To stop the behavior, just push them away and say, "No." Repeat as necessary. Joey liked to hump a teddy bear, but about 1 month after he was neutered, he stopped this behavior. It's related to the hormone testosterone, and while the testicles make the bulk of testosterone, the adrenal glands make some too, and the amount varies greatly between dogs, but this is why some females also hump. The bottom line is your dog is telling you he is the pack leader, and you must inform him, that all humans are the pack leader, so no humping on humans.
