I knew this man that had a Rottie that was so very gentle with everyone.........just a big old baby..........then one day a little girl went over to pet him, and he snapped and killed the little girl. No matter how sorry everyone was......no words made a difference........the little girl was gone forever. These BIG dogs which are gentle pets can at any time turn and because of their massive size they can kill. Therefore, it falls on the owners to accept the responsibility to protect others (people/pets etc.) from harm/death by fencing/etc. appropriately. Yes, a small dog can bite, all dogs can bite..........however, I have yet to hear "A yorkie just mauled a person to death" or "A yorkie just killed a Rottie" and I doubt that you ever will.
