Why is this teacup thing so HORRIBLE and taboo. I understand teacup is not a breed but I do understand what people mean when they say it. This is why I don't know what the horrors of someplace advertising that they have them is. To me its just another word to describe a very small dog. When pet stores advertise they have teacups I just think they have some small dogs and some regular sized ones. I don't automatically damn the store to hell. LOL......Can someone please explain to me what is bad about this label? Cuz in my eyes there IS a such thing as a teacup yorkie its just another word for a very small tiny yorkie. I don't see the difference in advertising a teacup and something like a toy poodle. Its just a name.

I believe what is so bad about this is that some "breeders/brokers" without knowledge of the consiquences, will breed these small dogs under 3 lbs to try to get an entire litter of tinies. This could kill the mother.
Alot of sellers just put the label "teacup" on them to jack up the pricetags. They try to make it seem like they are a seperate type. Also, many people just use these pups as status dogs or assesories. The petshops try to sell dogs as a spur of the moment purchase.
The tinies are just the runts of the litter. Many people say that they get health problems easily and you have to be extra careful with them. They have to be watched carefuly around children because of their little fragile bones. I've heard of them jumping up in the air or jumping off of a couch/bed and getting hurt.
So I guess these are the things you don't hear about the cute teeny "teacups" that paris and brittney sport around.
