For the top of the head, comb up the parts you want to cut, hold w/your 2nd & 3rd finger & cut only the top part. Kinda like how a hairdresser would hold your hair up b4 they cut it. For the paws, I use a curved scissor, but if you don't have one, straight one is fine. Leave his paws touching the floor (or table) trim around the paw holding the shears vertically. Not 40 degree angle or any angle, the scissor must be straight. I'll post pics of it later...can't find my camera at the moment.
