Thanks for all the well-wishes and I will definitely keep you all posted. I have attempted to speed up the process by having a friend/co-worker over to do a home visit - she works for a rescue group here in town and often does home visits for other organizations, including loyal rescue. She is also one of my references, so I hope that having her vouch for me helps.
It's weird, but it really feels meant to be.. there's been so much happen, missed emails, lost internet connection, delays in responses on my part because I was out of town (twice!) and yet he's still available and I still have a chance, weeks later. He was even listed as "adoption pending" as they had an approved family who just never showed up to meet the little guy. Fate, perhaps? We shall see.
I'll update again tomorrow night after I speak with the lady from the rescue group... If all goes well next weekend might be a road trip weekend to go pick him up!
