If the owner doesn't stay with the pet there is no appt necessary. They walk in any time, it could be very busy or in the middle of an emergency when nobody is available, or on a day you're short handed. The people who made appts expect to be seen at their appt time not wait while a walk-in is taken ahead of them. It's interesting how some people react to having to wait in some situations.
