I've actually made this mistake too before..... at the ball park, I was walking around with Tatum (she was about 2 years old and 4-ish pounds) and I saw someone with what looked like a Yorkie but was pretty big - I'm thinking probably well over 10 pounds and quite tall - so I asked her what kind of dog he was. She kinda snorted at me and said a Yorkie. I didn't want to be rude so I just said "cute Yorkie" and walked off. I've learned a lot since then on this board.
