Every yorkie is different, but they can continue to change colors until they are two years old. He is just beginning to go through changes, you will see lots of change in the next year or two!
Even his coat texture might change... although his body seems cottony now, as his adult coat comes in that may change to a more silky texture.
In other words... at this point it is just too early to tell! But one thing is for sure, he will be beautiful no matter what!
You might consider a puppy cut or even a shaved body (like a schnauzer cut) if you are have trouble brushing him. If his hair mats really bad, then he isn't going to enjoy being brushed. If you don't want to cut his hair, you might try some different shampoo/conditioner products. I use the ice on ice leave in conditioning spray(CC system products) and that cuts back on the tangles a lot. Or something similar to reduce the snags...

Take lots of pictures, they change soooo much during the first year! I look at pictues of my babies from just a few months ago and I can't believe the changes...
