Bobo loves long walks too, and we take him hiking with us when we are in AZ. (when it is not too hot!) In addition to the water,treats and poop bags, we bring along a doggie knapsack that he can climb in if/when he gets too tired. I think we got it at PetSmart. He only weighs six pounds so carrying him is no big deal. He doesn't get tired very often, though. He can easily go for an hour+.
