Wink Thanks to you all, she's better...

Yesterday afternoon Puddin' started vomiting. She threw up large quantities of clear fluids, once with a little piece of sweet basil in it (not toxic to dogs...I checked). She stopped, but then was listless and dull-eyed and uncharacteristically frail looking. I syringed her with some water and got some Nutri-stim into her and she perked up a bit and by evening seemed more like herself, even though her nose was dry and warm (no temperature, though...I checked).

In the middle of the night she started retching. I picked her to rush her to the bathroom, but didn't make it. She upchucked three times, each time more clear fluid but this time with some black stringy stuff. I cleaned her up and took her back to bed where she slept the rest of the night.

This morning she was looking very peaked, so I syringed her with a little more water. She did not want her food or water. Then I thought "What would they tell me on YT?" I hurried out to the kitchen and put on a pot of rice and pulled out a chicken breast and boiled it, then cut part of it up small and mixed it into the cooled rice with a little broth from the chicken.

Well, Miss I-don't-feel-well-enough-to-eat-my-kibble just snarfed it down! She wouldn't drink water, but she drank quite a bit of the broth. That was five hours ago. She just had a second helping of chicken and rice and has been drinking broth instead of water all morning. Her eyes are bright, her energy is back, her nose is wet and cold...whatever got her down seems to have gone.

I never would have thought of the rice, chicken and broth on my own...so, thanks to all of you, she's much better and back to being her old self!
