Please pray for my husband My husband Harry is 42 years old and has lost 50 lbs in the past 3 months. He has a constant abdominal pain that turns into a searing pain that wraps around to his back about 20-30 minutes after eating. He suffers from diarrhea, fatigue, drops in blood pressure, nausea... He had a Nissen procedure in Nov. for acid reflux/GURD due to pain upon eating and weight loss. They automatically attributed the initial symptoms to GURD because he has suffered from it for the past several years. After his November surgery he was healing and doing well then all of a sudden, on New Year's Eve, the above symptoms began.
The surgery was a success and has been ruled out from contributing to his problems. He has been to the ER several different times, been hospitalized for several days, and has been to Johns Hopkins all to no avail so far. He has had several CT scans, Endoscopys, a Colonoscopy, blood work, along with other samples, chest and abdominal x-rays...the list goes on and on. All came back normal except the last 3 CT scans have shown small spots on his liver that weren't there before but we were told it's just something to keep an eye on.
We go tomorrow (today) for a test I've been begging the doctors for for the past 3 months...an endoscopy ultrasound of his pancreas. The doc is also going to check his lymph nodes while he is in there, just in case something may be spreading to his liver. I am frightened and we're praying that it is not the pancreas or cancer. We are running out of things that could be causing all these issues and the not-knowing tends to make the mind go to the dark place.
I feel so bad for my husband. We bought him a recliner so he can sleep because he can not lay down. He is getting depressed and is unable to work more than 4 hours in a day and then takes several days to recupperate from that effort. My 4 year old son has no idea what is wrong with his daddy, and my daughter has been dealing with migraines that are debilitating. She has missed so much school the past few weeks due to them. The doc thinks it's from the stress of what is going on with her father. I am trying to keep it together but it is hard to watch the person you love fading away with no answer as to why.... Please keep us in your thoughts today as we pray for good news but we are also saying a prayer that God gives the doctors the wisdom to find out what is wrong. Please say a prayer for Harry...for all of us as we struggle to figure it all out. I apologize for the length of this post but needed to share...I am frightened. Thank you and God Bless.
