I have never (and will never!) let Meg off her leash while we are outside. There is just too much that could happen, and too quickly. It's a dangerous world out there, and Meg thinks she is a huge dog who can explore everything. Granted I live near a city, not out in the boondocks, but Meg is just too precious, so why take the risk. She loves to play with dogs of all sizes, but I will hold her if there is a big dog that I don't trust completely. Even if the big dog think he's playing, he could really hurt Meg!

I'd rather deal with tangled leashes than have Meg off a leash. The thought of letting her off scares me to death.
