I have a service dog (in training) as well. I recently flew from Korea-USA-Korea with her and didn't have any problems. The flight attendants did tell me I had to keep her under the seat (which is not correct since she is a service dog). I flew on United. I had an ID for her, but I didnt' even need to take it out. The check-in people only cared about the paperwork (health cert and letter from my doctor).
For anyone who has to fly international, stay away from Delta. They charge $550/ONE WAY!
