I usually do my tails and dews on the same day, usually the third day. Exceptions are made for puppies that are not thriving as well as the other siblings. I will do them at a later date, but not later than 8 days old. I do my own.
I dont like the idea of having to take the puppies to the vet twice. Maybe she needs to ask another vets opinion.
