I have ask potential parents just as a survey for my own information. These are the answers I have gotten "They are the cutest" I have a back condition and I can't bathe and care for any dog over 5 lbs but I still want a companion. I want one like I have seen in the movies. They won't hurt my children, cat, bird, etc. I want a baby that I can carry everywhere with me, planes, trips, sneak into motels etc. Now if I suspect they have unrealistic expectations I try to reeducate them. No matter what the size they are still buying a terrier. They bark, will bite if provoked, they were bred to chase anything that runs from them. Also they are dogs not human babys (no mattter what we treat them like) They run and play and eat without hands and poop and chew. I tell them that the dogs in movies are highly trained by professionals they didn't come that way. And because I know the Yorkshire Terrier and their relationship to humans, that even though they don't grow up to meet their human parents expectations they will be loved anyway
