When I brought home my Yorkie puppy home she was going on 9 weeks old. The breeder had already given 2 rounds of vaccines. The puppies had not ever been exposed to any other animals or even been outside.
I took my new puppy to the vet a couple day later after bringing her home. The vet reccomened me start completely over with the all the vaccines. My first thought was that this was too much and it was over vaccinating my little puppy. However, the breeder started too early. Therefore, I did choose to began the vaccines over.
There is a high incidence of Parvo in my area. Suzi has turned a yr this month and has never become infected with any of these deadly ilnessess. i believe i did the right thing with her.
Parvo can come in on people's shoes, hands, or anything from outside where there has been exposure.
