I was so exhausted after the party and didn't have the energy to get on here, but I'm here now so to answer al the questions...
Right now I'm doing fine with paying for all of Deegan's meds & stuff along with Trooper's. My concern is if he needs another ls surgery that I won't be able to afford that... I'm maxed out, Julien is a mold maker for the auto industry and we all know how that is. We don't know how if they will be able to survive and if he'll still have a job in 6 mths. And I worry because his last ls surgery cost the rescue group $4500 US! I'm praying that it won't come to that though. My vet has payment plan and is happy to work with me on anything which is good. I've never heard of a Protien-C test, but I will ask my vet about it.
Olga said that his levels could be high because they never had him on liver support after surgery (I'm the one who put him on those after I adopted him). But she also said they could be up because of the bladder infection, and recommended that I put him on a probiotic called Azodyl, which I'm gonna talk t my vet about tomorrow. She is a bit concerned that he might have another stone too though. They did remove one during his ls surgery. I've been adding water to his food all the time to try to avoid this though.
But like I said before when I called Oakland they weren't too concerned with the numbers at this point and are going to talk in detail with my vet this week about it. I just wonder if they aren't telling me everything?? Or maybe I'm paranoid... They said that before his ls surgery that his numbers were in the hundreds!! (so to recap - prior to surgery they were in the hundreds - after surgery they were pre2, post 32 & now pre 26, post 52).
In regards to MVD - I don't know what that is and doubt it was tested for. I don't see anything in his paperwork that I have that mentions that at all. Can someone explain what it is, what symptoms I should look for and how to test for it??
Oh and thanks for the tip on turning over the pee pads, that's a great idea! Now I just hve to get him to pee on them! lol
I'm a little more calmer than I was yesterday, still very worried, but hoping for the best scenario... Thanks for the guidance everyone!!! |
