awww- i feel ya. Layla has it in both legs- if the vet hadn't told me i'd never know- it is VERY possible for them to live out a full life and stay in stage 1 or 2 and to stay symptom free- however that being said- a simple jump off the couch can cause ANY small dog's knee- diagnoised LP or not to go from perfect to stage 4. But keep Tetley's weight down and keep up with the walks- and things SHOULD be ok. Many people are using a glucosamine (Cosequin) supplement- Layla's tummy can't deal with it but she is still doing fine without it- actually at her last visit the vet said her legs were doing BETTER than the last time they were checked- who knew!
