You must remember that a Veterinarian is an educated professional; their charges are significantly less than comparable charges by an MD. Of course insurance covers human medical bills. We all know that vet care is expensive; but they deserve to make a decent living. Veterinarian friends of mine claim they don't make much money..They are unfortunately doing "defensive medicine" due to lawsuits etc. Would you work for nothing? You get what you pay for.
