We need to add too since this is not mentioned much - if anyone is serious about showing and want to really get a show prospect puppy to hopefully show - one must also show that they want to do things right. One has to prove themself. No one is going to give anyone a pup to show unless they have that trust in you. If one has bred before or has yorkies already - just please be sure to do things right and following the ethics set forth by the YTCA Yorkshire Terrier Club of America Code of Ethics There are so many people that do not think about this and then cannot understand why no one will sell them a puppy to show. It goes both ways. You want to get from a reputable breeder, but they want reputable parents for their pups.
Best of luck and yes, please go to the shows and join the clubs - this is a good start. This is how many of us learn.
