I would try letting him sniff and check out everything that your going to use on him first, set it down on the floor, or just hold it up to him. sometimes, when you show things first, it helps out a lot. Fiona used to do the same thing when she was real young, that at her first vet visit we took her to when we got her, the vet told me that she would be one to be sedated to be groomed, and i was not going to have that at all! i was really shocked that with her age she stopped doing things. I would use treats and just go real slow,let him know its ok. But try letting him check out everything first! good luck!
