My Yorkie, Pao went through that phase as well. I then put a small coke bottle filled with plain water in the middle of the pee pad and he aims on it when he pee. It really helps to put his pee in perspective lol but when he is in a hurry (to play or etc) he sometimes just do a clumsy pee but more often than not, he aims at the bottle heheeh.

Also, I find that mine doesn't like to pee and poo at the same place. If he already pee in his pad upstairs, he'll run downstairs to poo on the pad on the main floor. Not sure why but they are silly like that lol.
