Breeding a yorkie under 5 lbs is risky, and even though the male should be smaller, the male is the one that produces the males or females, and the female is the one that determines the size of the pups(hope I worded that right). If she doesn't make it to at least 5 lbs, I would have her spayed and get one that is going to be the right size to breed, or just have your sister buy her own yorkie.
I am going to breed, but, not for over a year yet(the female is only 11 weeks now, so, will be at least 1 1/2 years yet), and I have a lot of reading to do to get ready. There is more to breeding than just putting 2 dogs together. I will have all her testing done and make sure she's in good enough health to breed before actually breeding her. |
