If they happen to want to be an outside pet (even all the time) it doesn't mean that I love them any less or that they are any less a part of our family. I provide them with shelter, food, water, and love no matter where they prefer to be so for me the answer is for no other reason than that 4 letter word... love.
I have had dogs that want to be inside and dogs that want to be outside even at the coldest of times. I can leave the front door wide open and Sasha will not willingly step more than her front feet inside the door. No amount of bribery will get her to come in any further than that. No matter what the weather is like I would literally have to drag her by the collar to get here inside. At this point she would be miserably hunched down until she is let back outside. She is outside because that's where she wants to be so that's why we have a dog that is outside all the time.
OP- If the owner of the pup is not providing the pup with shelter, food, water, and medical care you should call and report the situation because she is neglecting the pup. If they see for themselves and find grounds under the law to remove the pup they can legally do so at that time. Be persistant and take pictures and or video of the horrible condition the pup is being forced to try to survive in. I wish you luck in dealing with this situation and hope that in the end this pup can get the care and attention he needs. |
