We bathed Bender as soon as we got him home (mostly because we found him suffering in a pet shop, small and shivering in a corner and covered in his own wastes). He had a very nice first bath, and he was about 5 weeks old, but if you bathe your puppy you must be careful to do it in a 'non-scary' fashion. When we bathed Bender the first time we put a little luke warm water in our sink and then had a cup of water for rinsing/wetting. We poured some water in our hands and gently rubbed it into his fur in the beginning to get him used to the idea of the water, and it was as if the wet was right along with being pet and cooed at. By the end of the bath he was ok with us pouring water on his back a little at a time to rinse him. I think at that point in time he was just happy people were being so nice to him and giving him so much attention. Now he's 2, and he really likes to swim around in the tub with my husband when he's taking a bath...he takes about 90% of his showers with me. I have a bath seat in the shower and he sits next to me and loves the spray
