Luckily I've never had anyone say anything negative about Twinkle's size (she's 8lb) but I do think it's a rude thing to comment on. I know my furbaby isn't a great example of a yorkie, standard-wise, but that doesn't make her any less a yorkie. I think your Daisy is beautiful - just as she is
