To me "both" are excellant choices. We had our Blk Lab for 15 years. Both are so similar in characteristics - I guess for me it would come down to grooming. Both shed but Goldens have longer hair that needs brushing. Hard choice - let us know what you decided. (I'm pulling for the Blk Lab  Good Luck!!!
