When Teddy went in for his neuter last month, the vet tech removed the hair in his ears. He told us that it needed to be whenever he is groomed so that bacteria does not grow in the warmth of the ear by attaching to the hair. I never thought of doing it myself but he does do a lot of ear scratching. I guess I will do some more research on it as well.
