I am starting to think there is some truth to the theory that they need to clean up after themselves and that is why they eat their poop. I have found that if our puppy is in her puppy pen she eats her food and then poops and then tries to eat the poop. But if she is not in the puppy pen she poops and walks away from it. Now that she hasn't had accidents in a bit, we have slacked off a bit on following her around and she goes to her pee pad by her self. She actually poops and then starts barking- as if to say ok now come clean it up! We are from Canada so up until now it has been cold. I want to start taking her out next week for her to do her business and am curious to see what happens then.
