Just a little venting. I don't like nobody to dis my baby! Picture of of her sweet face with a dirty nose yesterday resting after a fun time outside. |
I just wanted to let you know that I completely agree with you. However I don't think you are "just venting". I think you are pointing out a very sad and very obvious flaw in humans. As humans, we tend to be ignorant and even more so, are ignorant to the fact that are are so.
My yorkie is just under 10 pounds and I'm always told the same thing, "he's way too big!" I even had a teenager tell me once, "We have a dog like yours, but ours is the proper size, he's 2lbs." 2lbs!! I went on to explain to her how dogs are inbred to create such tiny things and how unhealthy it is for the dog when they can barely lift their head because their muscles aren't strong enough and how they live half as long as "regular" dogs because of this.
Finally, I think you're dog is a fantastic example of a Yorkie! I'd hate to hear any owner say their dog, full breed or mutt, about their dog! They are what they are, they don't judge us. My dog is as dumb as a box of rocks, but he's a loving, gentle sweetie and doesn't judge me for being tired after work or lazy.
I try to educate people that say my dog is "too large". Most are receptive to it, a few are simply to naive to change their minds. But I do what I can!
Thanks for listening!
