Hello YT! I just recently purchased my yorkie from a petstore ( yes i know this is bad but im active duty military stationed in Japan and this was the only place i could think of )Her name is Marley and she is 5 months old. She is the sweetest thing ever. I took her to get chipped today and her last set of puppy shots until next year and it took all i had not to cry when they chipped her . I wouldnt want a needle that big sticking even me!! Well, when it was over and I got her home she was very forgiving and acted like nothing had even happened! Making me love her even more if thats even possible!! I wanted to ask about a few things. First off, if i could barely handle her getting chipped, i need some encouragement on getting her spayed! I want to get her spayed most DEFINITELY seeing as i have read about what types of problems can occur if i dont. I have just read that anesthesia(sp?) for small toy dogs can be dangerous at times. Also she has been doing very well for me with housebreaking in only the 5 days that i have had her. I have a schedule.. about 6am when i wake up b4 i start getting ready for work i take her out, then when i come home from lunch ( i keep her in a fairly big kennel with a bed and toys and piddle pad ), and then as soon as i get home.. once i am home for the evening she goes out like every 1 or 2 hours. Sometimes she doesnt even use the bathroom everytime, its just a little 20 minutes of adventure

I try and give her cheerios and praise her for every time that she goes potty but she doesnt really go apes for cheerios and i have tried a small piece of apple and she didnt really care for that either. I was wondering if anyone knows of a safe treat that I could buy at my local supermarket for her so its really a reward when she goes! Also, how should i scold her when she starts biting to hard when we are playing ( my husband likes to play with her and lets her nibble at him but i dont like that, i think it teaches her to bite ) and when she starts chewing on things like blankets and electrical cords. I dont want to scare her but i want her to know i mean business. I say no firmly but she just shrugs it off and keeps going. I have bought her plenty of chew toys and i always give her a chew toy in place of what she was chewing on that was bad but sometimes is doesnt always work. Thanks again for all the advice that I have gotten in just reading these forums b4 I joined! Any advice about anything would be GREAT!!!
