If it is inflamed, the cool rag should reduce the swelling and also give her comfort as you said. I would continue doing that until you can get to a REAl vet. Because obviously his pat answer is not working for your poor little baby, or you. (And it is not working for me either.) Maybe she has something lodged in the cornea. I mean she is trying to tell you that it is more than just runny, I just wish the vet had showed her a little more concern. It has taken me awhile, but I have learned to listen to my babies, like you are doing. Don't wait, get to another vet this week, even if you have to go to the emergency vet.
