Have you checked her for giardia? Are you sure she wasn't runny while at the breeder's?
Tap water is generally fine in Canada. Filtered nicely, etc., however, at least here in B.C. it has been brought up recently how in spite of our amazingly regulated quality city/tap water, we are being poisoned by the old lead pipes that are transporting the water to your home. To avoid lead poisoning, etc., people are advised to install a filter in the house as that's cheaper than replacing the pipes underground. The choice of material being used for new pipes going through are also now up for debate.
Change of water may cause problems, but I don't think it's long-term. Personally, I've never had issues with feeding water from different sources, but I do recall reading about that on here where it seems to have affected a pup. What has your vet concluded after running tests on her? Did you get her a fecal exam? |
