When we brought Jasmine home 4 weeks ago, I too had the same concerns. Prissy is a small poodle, but could still hurt Jasmine if she was inclined to do so and Prissy has always been the only pet/person in our home. So, right when we got home we introduced Jasmine to Prissy. I always keep both of them with me, since I am retired, and make sure I give just as much attention to Prissy as I do to Jasmine so she doesn't get jealous. At first Prissy did not like Jasmine, but somewhere through the last 4 weeks, of me always keeping that "eagle eye" on them, they have become good play pals. Prissy is 7 years old and when she is tired she lets Jasmine know without a fight. They will always have their own separate crate for their down time, just like me, they need that too. Good luck!
