I live right next to the town Lyme, CT where Lyme disease was first found. Ticks are a big problem in my area but I will not let my puppy Piper get the Lyme Disease innoculation. My first Yorkie received the Lyme vaccine and within 10 days he was real sick with Lyme Disease. The next year he got The Lyme Disease shot again. Within 10 days he had Lyme Disease again. The same thing happened the following year. The next year I wouldn't let Chipper have the vaccine again. He lived to be 13 years old and he never had Lyme Disease again. When Piper was due to have the Lyme vaccine I told the vet I was convinced that Chipper kept getting Lyme from the shot. The vet said that it was quite possible and didn't recommend the shot for a tiny Yorkie puppy.
