My one year old yorkie has been making a hacking noise. It's hard to describe it. It sounds like he is going to vomit, or kinda like he has a hairball.? But he will make this sound at least once a day, and sometimes it lasts a good while. He's been doing it about all winter. We took him to the vet about a week or so ago. There was no fever, and he shows no signs of feeling bad what so ever. She looked at his throat and said it was a little red, she said he probably has form of strep throat( not sure about spelling). They gave him some amoxil, an antibiotic, to take twice a day. Just wondering if anyone has heard of this. Thanks.
