Hi everyone! my name is Deanna this is my first post on yorkietalk. A little about myself I have two Yorkies one male and one female, Benji is my first yorkie he is close to 2 years old and is my pride and joy. Raven is my new puppy that I just got 3 days ago. As for Raven im not real sure on her age.
I say this b/c when my husband and I went to buy her we went through the same breeder we got benji from because benji was a healthy and turned into a great dog! When we went to look at Raven for the first time it was love at first sight of course. When I first held her my first question was how old is she? The breeder then began to tell me that she is 8 weeks old born on 1/8/09. I believed him b/c Ive never had a puppy that was 8 weeks old. usually i get my puppies between 10-12 weeks. So of course we got her and I asked the breeder what she eats. he begins to tell me he syringe feeds b/c he likes to be sure the puppy is getting her nutrition while he was gone for a couple hours at a time.
When my husband and I brought Raven home we noticed that she walked like she just learned how to walk her eyes were a slight blue which i didnt notice right away. we began to question weather or not she was really 8 weeks. After much research I know she is not 8 weeks. here are some pictures of what she looks like.

I made an appointment with the vet the day after tomorrow and i will know for sure. she's very active Ive been giving her baby food chicken flavor with also some puppy formula (milk) and of course water. I want to make sure im doing the right things im so nervous. The day we bought her home she had diarrhea but that stopped now she hasnt done a #2 in almost 2 days! im concerned?? Ive been trying to stimulate her by whipping her backside with a warm cloth and Ive been trying to give her lots of excersice. I hope she is not constipated?? When do puppys started eating hard dog food? she tried once but couldnt chew it. ive been keeping her warm all day. This is all new to me and im trying my best to make her healthy and happy puppy. Any pointers??

Hi everyone!! if anyone is following my situation.. I want everyone to know Raven had her first vet appointment!!! and yes I named her Raven!! cute right? Well yesterday I took her and the Vet checked her out and says she is healthy!! she said her heart and lungs sound great. No evidence of hernia. Her eyes are intacted and developing well. Her ears are open and her teeth are coming in fine. Overall a healthy puppy! She did say that she is between 5 to 6 weeks old!! so everyone that helped in my question above was right! The vet did give her a dewormer and told me that she is not going to start vaccines for another 2 weeks. until she is around 7 weeks.
The vet said everything ive been doing is great! She doesnt eat from a syringe anymore a few days ago she started eating on her own and boy does she love to eat!! I still mix the baby food with puppy formula and the vet said to do that until her teeth are fully in. probably for another week or two. I listened to everyone on here and got the Nutri-cal and I give that to her once a day or everytime I think im going to have to leave her for more then a couple hrs. She is doing very well, very active!! Loves to pick a fight with my other yorkie but they def love each other already. She growls and tries to bark. Her walking has improved alot and she tries to run but she more like hops around!

other then that I couldnt be happier! I still am stimulating her to poop with a warm cloth I just want to make sure she goes everyday.
As far as the guy that sold me her. Well I told my Vet about the whole thing and gave her his address, name and number. She told me that she would contact animal control and have them look into this guy. So at least I can walk away know that I saved many more puppy's besides Raven. Hopefully they take him down and doesnt handle another puppy.
I do have more questions for every since i have this infant puppy..
1. how much longer should I stimulate her to poop?? Should I just let her start going on her own and see how she does ??
2. how do I get her intrested in water?? I have to basically force her to drink water! everytime i put it in her face she wants nothing to do with her and I know she needs to be getting more water?
Thanks again for all you help everyone and I will def keep you all posted on lil Ravens progression
