My Woody has a cottony coat and has the same problem if I don't trim his backside. Try another bath to make sure there is no more poo, Woody likes it when I cup my hand under his tail and let the warm water soak his bottom. Try to keep an eye on it, if it's not better tonight or tomorrow morning, I would call your vet to see if they feel Tim should be seen. Woody has always been better and with almost no irritation within 6-12 hours tops. Hope Tim feels better soon and don't forget to trim him up today
