Has anyone ever used 1800 pet meds to buy the heartworm medicine? I tried ordering it because it was cheaper through them than the vet. So I placed my order and they said they had to call the vet and get the prescription authorized. My vet didnt want to do it over the phone like other vets, they needed a copy that they could sign, fill out and mail back to them. So i called the vet this morning to see what was going on and they told me that if I bought the heartworm medicine through a "3rd Party" I would have to have Mandie tested for heartworms every 6 months when i needed a new refill of the medication. SO what is the since in having a convenient way to fill your pets medication if the vet is going to not authorize it and then want more money when you need a refill for a test. The only reason I did petmeds online is because I am a college student trying to save a little money here and there. Sorry im just frustrated at the vet right now!!!!
