Wow, I guess they must like padding bills or ripping people off one way or another on a regular basis. They charged for an extra tooth they didn't pull and left in. During the first visit, when we were there as drop-ins and were scheduling a dental surgery after the routine puppy wellness exam for new patients, we discussed wanting a urinalysis done as well as the pre-op blood work. The reception was already billing me for the urine test when we have not yet even CAUGHT the sample for them yet. I mean, other vets I've been to generally don't pre-charge you for services not yet rendered and even after we said, we'll see if we can manage to catch her pee during the week.

I guess it was a good thing he forgot about my request for a full body x-ray and any other tests run that would help keep a record of her while she's healthy to use in future in case there are any changes for comparison.
And the exchange the girls there had on "how much [the doctor] wants to charge them" for the teeth work... that was when we were told by the doctor to ask the girls out front for a quote on the dental work as he "really [doesn't] know" the prices. I thought that was weird and decided to ignore that bad feeling because he was recommended to us by a puppy classmate.
But it's good to hear that you found yourself another vet! I'm just a little surprised that you've already been to this one and also had a negative experience. LOL
