Molasses, yes I can understand that its derived a totally different way.

Honey, if its cooked into something, I can also understand. The cooking process would kill the botulism spores.

What I'm referring to is giving honey raw, like in a hypoglycemia attack. I keep NutriCal on hand, but i'm concerned about some giving raw honey. Someone tell me my research is flawed...Ellie Mae?

The amount of botulism spores present varies by region, but Bees naturally collect botulism spores as they are collecting nectar and mix them into the honey. Are canines not susceptable to botulism? Could it be that simple?
