I just had Piper cut short like that a few days ago. She had hip surgery 10 weeks ago and had her hip and most of the leg shaved for the surgery. They also partially shaved both front legs for IVS and she looked like she got ran over by a lawn mower. I decided to just get her hair cut short even with the hair on her hip. When I picked her up at the groomers I have to admit I didn't reconize my baby. She is 10 months old so when all the puppy hair was shaved her adult color was revealed. Her body is now silvery which shouldn't surprise me because that was the color of her mother. Now that I'm past the initial shock, I think she's absolutely beautiful. The cut is very easy to take care of. Piper has a silky coat and everything stays tangle free. The only thing that really needs brushing is her face and head and that only takes a couple minutes once a day.
