Sounds to me like a yorkie would be a very good choice for you and your girlfriend. My husband and I both suffer from pet allergies and have absolutely NO reactions to our yorkie. This being said, please do not get your yorkie from a pet store - especially if you are concerned about health issues!! Do a lot of research before you commit to owning a new puppy.
