I have heard that male dogs tend to become more attached to their female owners and female dogs tend to favor males, so if you're looking for a companion dog for yourself you may want a male. I'm not sure if this is accurate info though - does anyone know if there is any truth behind this?
We have a 15 week old female puppy and she seems to follow my husband and I around equally. If she has to choose between the two of us to play/cuddle with, she usually chooses me - so I guess in our case it isn't true...
I would go and meet all the puppies in person and more than likely one of them will stand out to you. I would go by personality more than sex.
