Some of you might know that I lost my Dorkie yesterday. My daughters have arranged to buy me a Yorkie puppy. The breeder my girls are getting the puppy from has offered to let them have a female for the same price as a male. For some reason I had wanted a male but I really don't have a logical reason. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I have 3 daughters and only 1 son

One think I dislike about males is there marking and other dominating behaviors. I thought that if I nuetered him early enough that wouldn't be a problem; but, I was already beginning to see that behavior in my 10 wk old Dorkie.
Male or female, I would still have the puppy fixed. I am just wanting a companion dog for myself since my children are all almost grown and I find myself home alone much of the time (my husband is a missionary and travels 3-4 monthes of the year.) What are some of your thoughts on gender?
