I have had the same issues. You have to puppy proof like you would baby proof your home. When mine are out of our play area (my bedroom) I watch them like hawks! I still find chewed wires and they are always chewing on things! They find what my vacuum and broom miss. I think it is just their way. We have to vacuum everyday,,,sweep and mop every day...Maybe they just want a clean house
