When i try to teach Scamp to sit with a small treat he tried to get the treat but jumping on me (chest if im sitting or legs if I try to stand) instead of getting in the sit position. If i try to slowly move the treat above his head he goes in a circle...lol. I have put my hand on his hindend and gently put him in the sit position while moving the treat to make him sit--then saying good sit and praising him and giving him the treat.

What should I do to be more effective?
