we too had issues with Scamp whining and barking in the kitchen at night after we went to bed. We decided after severael minutes of non stop whining/barking that we would put him in our room in a pack and play (lned with plastic, with a pee pad and a towel in it and a chew bone. As soon as he began to whine in the pack and play I immediately corrected him saying his correction word....it took two corrections and we have had three nights no whining since! We only got him four days ago. We hope to eventually transition him to his petbed in our room, once hes potty trained (vs the pack and play).
Basically we didnt care if he was in our room--just did not want him in our room or waking up our one year old by whining and barking in the kitchen
