 Update
Just a little update - babies and momma are doing just splendid! Hillary is doing such a great job with the puppies! I am so proud of her. She has a hard time cleaning up after all of them, but God love her for trying so hard (I of course help, haha).
The only weird thing she does is, when I give her formula mixed with food (twice a day to help keep her energy and milk up), she likes to push the bowl with her nose and knock it over then lick it up - which would be fine except she gets the puppies all wet. So, I have resolved myself to holding the bowl up to her face while she's letting the babies nurse and letting her lap up the "soup" while I hold tight to the bowl. Haha, it's a little frustrating, but I guess just one of those things a surrogate mother has to do sometimes. : ) |
